One of our colleagues had a delicious looking salad on her desk. The vegetables looked crisp, and the chicken smelled heavenly.
Where did she get it?
Fast forward a week, and I was in North Providence around lunch time.
I stopped into McDonald's and ordered a Chipotle Barbecue Snack Wrap. I chose grilled chicken because the menu board said it had fewer calories than crispy (fried) chicken.
My wrap contained 250 calories, 8 grams of fat, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 16 grams of protein, and 670 milligrams of sodium.
It was delicious. The chicken was moist, the lettuce was crisp, the wrap was fresh, and the barbecue sauce was just right. With a bottle of water and tax, it cost a little over $3, and it was plenty for lunch.
Last fall, McDonald's launched a healthy menu initiative that is appearing in its restaurants this spring. It's worth a visit.
