I made it through last weekend's blizzard just fine -- no loss of power, roads eventually plowed -- but in the middle of being stuck inside, I got sick.
What would have been a couple of days of isolation turned into five, two of them spent flat-out in bed. After watching endless hours of Netflix, re-reading mysteries whose endings I knew and calling my daughters multiple times at work to tell them how lousy I felt, I turned to the Internet.
After spending many hours searching for treasure with a starfish and a worm, it occurred to me there must be a more stylish way to pass the time. And so, I spent the next hour or so looking for something interactive and fashion-oriented, with mixed results.
There is, of course, Polyvore, which lets you put together outfits and buy pieces you covet. There are virtual closets, but they require the effort of snapping and uploading pix of your wardrobe. And there are games in which you accessorize with tutus and tiaras.
If anyone knows of a grown-up, design-oriented site, please let me know. Should I ever be housebound again, my daughters will surely thank you.
