Buy a prom dress, do some good. That's the offer from Fall River gown emporium Party Dress Express.
For every prom dress sold today through Sat., Feb. 23, the store will donate one to a young woman affected by Hurricane Sandy.
New York-based charities Friends of Multicultural High School and Where To Turn plan to distribute the dresses to Staten Island high school students.
"When you work with teens year-round to find the perfect prom dress, you know how much this night means to them," Party Dress Express owner Donna Holland said in a statement.
So we found it heartbreaking to think about young women who lost their homes, have been displaced or whose parents just couldn't put money towards a prom dress because of Hurricane Sandy."
