If you have curly/ frizzy hair like mine, you understand the relationship you have with your flat iron. It's based on trust and desperate need; the styling tool will do its job, and you will be able to leave the house.
That is, until the day there's a sizzling sound, an electric pop and two stone-cold plates.
I need to replace my flat iron this very minute (there's only so much a BaByliss uber-mini iron can do -- it's meant for wisps around the hairline -- and only so many ponytails one can wear). But I'm getting bogged down in a swamp of contradictory information. I've checked Makeup Alley, looked at Allure and listened to friends. And still, I'm undecided.
Is GHD worth the price? Is CHI the industry standard? Are the best plates ceramic, tourmaline or titanium? Do negative ions matter? Does temperature?
Any advice gratefully accepted.
